(Impact Hub Accra team with K. Tritscher, EnTri, and H. Javoric, EET)
In the course of working out a market entry study funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) for the innovative company EET - Efficient Energy Technology GmbH from Graz, a joint trip to Accra took place in early February 2020.
(“Coconut-break” on the trip between 2 meetings)
In the capital of the West African country Ghana with its approximately 30 million inhabitants, numerous informative and constructive discussions were held with potential project partners and stakeholders during a whole week.

EET developed the innovative solar PV system "SolMate", which enables households without access to a roof generation of own solar power. EET’s intelligent energy management system helps replacing expensive electricity from the grid with inexpensive, sustainably produced solar energy. No special knowledge is required to fix the photovoltaic modules on the balcony railing or in the garden. Storage and energy management systems are built into a stylish box that is placed on the floor or hung on the wall.
SolMate is plugged into a normal household socket - and the own electricity production starts. The EET App enables remote control of the system. The status of power generation and storage can also be checked at any time
Specifically important facts for customers in developing countries with unreliable power supply:
- SolMate can be used as stand-alone solution in off-grid households.
- SolMate replaces expensive and environmentally damaging (diesel) gen-sets when used as back-up system in case of blackouts.
Finalization of the market entry study is a fist big step for internationalization of EET towards Africa. It is a pleasure for EnTri Consulting to accompany the young enterprise on its way.
